Power Deliverability Intelligence
Data Center Power Availability
Power availability for large-load data centers is not a binary question. It depends on interconnection queue capacity, transmission infrastructure, utility willingness to serve, and regulatory process timelines. We screen markets by deliverable capacity posture, not marketing claims.
What determines power availability for data centers?
Available MW on paper is not the same as deliverable power on a financeable timeline. True power availability depends on queue position, transmission upgrade requirements, utility capacity allocation policies, generation adequacy, and local regulatory constraints. Markets with nominally available capacity may still have multi-year energization timelines due to infrastructure bottlenecks.
Screening-grade intelligence. Does not guarantee power availability, utility serviceability, or specific MW commitments at any location.
Power availability signals we track
ISO interconnection queue
Queue depth, stage distribution, and large-load project counts across ERCOT, PJM, and other ISOs.
Substation headroom
High-voltage substation capacity proxies from EIA data — screening-grade, not utility-certified.
Transmission constraints
Known congestion zones, planned upgrades, and transmission-led dependencies.
Utility large-load policy
How the local utility handles large-load interconnection requests, tariffs, and service agreements.
Queue progression velocity
How fast projects move through study phases — an indicator of process efficiency.
Local friction signals
Moratoriums, zoning restrictions, community opposition — where source evidence exists.
